In Turkish coffee, inviting someone for a coffee means making time for them. PortreCoffee brings this tradition to tables in Portugal.

How it is prepared
Slow is the secret.
Watch the video, then make the ritual your own in three simple steps.
- 01Add 1 heaped teaspoon of Turkish coffee per cup to the cezve. Add sugar now, if desired. Finally, add 1 cup of room-temperature drinking water for each serving and stir until fully combined.
- 02Place the cezve over low heat. As the coffee warms slowly, foam will begin to rise. Remove it from the heat just before the foam reaches the rim.
- 03Gently tilt the cezve to distribute the foam first, then the coffee, among the cups. Wait about a minute for the grounds to settle and the coffee to cool slightly. Sip slowly and enjoy; the thick grounds left at the bottom are not drunk or eaten — leave them in the cup.

PortreCoffee was born from a life journey stretching from Türkiye to Portugal, and from our belief that a cup of coffee can bring people closer together.
The years we devoted to theatre taught us that every person has a story, and that those stories grow richer when they are shared.
Now, in Leiria, we bring together Turkish coffee’s deep-rooted tradition of hospitality and Portugal’s everyday gatherings shaped around coffee.
By preserving the distinctive colours of both cultures while allowing them to nourish one another, we want to create a more vibrant, inclusive culture of sharing—one that makes room for new friendships, flavours and stories.
For us, every cup is an invitation to meet, understand one another, and begin something beautiful together.
